CaribNOG 2 will be held in Castries, St Lucia, from 31st October to 3rd November 2010. The 3 day event is being jointly hosted by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and the Government of St Lucia.
CaribNOG 2 comes on the heels of the successful inaugural meeting held in St Maarten last August.
CaribNOG 2 is expected to draw industry experts from across the region and beyond. The event attracts speakers and participants from as far as New Zealand, Latin America, Europe, Africa and North America.
The CaribNOG 2 program includes technical training sessions on important topics such as Voice over IP (VoIP), Linux Security, IPv6 and advanced routing for building the skills of local ICT technicians and engineers.
CaribNOG has gained strong support from some major organizations in the industry including :
* the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU);
* the American Registry of Internet Numbers (ARIN);
* the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN);
* the Internet Society (ISOC);
* the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) and
* Packet Clearing House (PCH).
Admission to the meeting will be free of charge and open Internet Service Providers, Network Administrators, Computer Engineers, Technology Researchers and ICT Consultants and other interested stakeholders. This allows regional ICT practitioners a unique opportunity to benefit from the expertise of some of the top minds in the industry.
