SUMMARY:Thailand IPv6 Summit
LOCATION:Bangkok\, Thailand
URL:http://www.thailandipv6.net/ipv6summit/en/home/index.html
DESCRIPTION:The exponential growth of the Internet has led to an increasing
requirement of IP addresses. However\, the current IP address pool is expe
cted to run out in as early as 2008. A new standard of IP addressing\, dubb
ed IPv6\, was developed to solve the problem of IP address shortage. Not on
ly does IPv6 offer unimaginably large address space\, but IPv6 also improve
 s network efficiency\, security\, and quality-of-service.\n\n While many c
ountries in Europe and Asia have started IPv6 deployment\, Thailand has lit
tle awareness of the importance of IPv6. IPv6 network preparation is crucia
l for growth and competitiveness of the domestic Internet industry. The est
ablishment of Thailand IPv6 Forum in December 2004 signifies that Thailand
is now ready to embark upon a journey of promoting IPv6 deployment and IPv6
  based applications.\n\n As a result\, Thailand IPv6 Forum is organizing a
n international seminar on “The First Thailand IPv6 Summit” in order to cre
ate public awareness about the necessity of IPv6 technology. This will prov
ide a stage for academia\, ISPs\, telecom operators\, software and hardware
vendors\, corporate enterprise and government agencies to learn from one a
nother about IPv6 business opportunities\, as well as technical issues rega
 rding IPv6 deployment.\n\nMore: https://nsrc.org/calendar/helpfiles/worksho
