Huter , Wendy Kohn , rob@harare.iafrica.com, Clint Nursten Cc: Randy Bush , artkohn@kwamba.com Subject: Zimbabwe's network developments... Good day to you all. A lot has happened to our network in Zimbabwe. PTC (our local telcom) has 2 separate satellite links to the world. Both are 1 megabit/sec. Theses links are full and the speed has deteriorated over time. To this end Data Control was bought out by Econet Wireless Holdings, the only true independent telco operating a cellular telephone network in Zimbabwe. Data Control, trading as Internet Unlimited has the control of the Econet 1 megabit link, which is connected to Taide, in Norway. This link is really quick to the world, and will be upgraded as the demand for bandwidth increases. Our network is really becoming world class, and is still under the total control of Clint and Rob Nursten, the founders of Internet in Zimbabwe. We are also offering a "last mile" microwave solution to those customers who need proper high speed access to the Internet. Costs are still relatively high, but our pricing is very competitive locally, beating the PTC in both price and performance. Internet Unlimited is connected to both external satellite links, which will shortly be followed by a third link, also our own. Best Regards Rob Nursten Data Control - Internet Unlimited
