It looks like a very useful document and I think it would be good for APNIC to have on our web site - so thanks go to all involved in putting it together. I do have a couple of corrections for URLs and forms that will bring the document right up to date. We have also changed our policy (as has the RIPE NCC) for the minimum allocation which is now a /20 (effective 1st August 2000). Since I previously had contact with you, I'm forwarding these comments to you - please feel free to distribute them to others as necessary. Section II B APNIC allocates /20's under the 'slow start' policy. Section II D Membership application form is also on the web at: http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/membership-application.pl There is also a flow diagram on how to become a member at: http://www.apnic.net/membersteps.html which is the best place to start. Under "Address Allocation requests" point 3. for Confederations, please add a note to the effect that the APNIC Executive Council suspended confederations as a membership category in December 1998, due to problems with their structure. APNIC is therefore currently no longer accepting applications for new confederations. Under "copies of all forms" the URL is now: http://whois.apnic.net/registration.html#ip In the paragraph beginning "If there are strong reasons... ... and you require address space as a one-time allocation only... ^^^^^^^^^^ this should be "assignment". We distinguish between assignments and allocations - the former being a one-time request for address space for a specific purpose to assign hosts. An allocation is held as a pool and sub-delegated to whoever (usually customers of an ISP). Under B. How do i register an ASN? We now have an on-line form that is parsed real time (the text form will also be parsed). The URL for that is at: http://www.apnic.net/db/aut-num.html and lastly I notice there is no mention of in-addr.arpa delegations in the APNIC region. This is requested through our form at: http://www.apnic.net/db/domain.html ---------- That is all. I hope this helps for the next revision of the document.
