Advanced ccTLD Workshop Assessment and Planning Guide

This assessment form is to help us determine what topics and direction
to taken when we finalize a course outline for upcoming ccTLD
workshops. We wish to customize the workshop topics to areas that will
be useful to you. The more information you can give us in this
assessment document, the better we will be able to do this.
1. SELF-ASSESSMENT
------------------
1a. Describe a major challenge that you have faced over the last
months or years in operating and developing the registry
operation.
Please include:
* The policy and the technical aspects of the challenge.
* Interested parties who were involved in the process.
* Solutions, if any, you have deployed to solve the challenge(s).
* Tools or training that were included in your planning process.
Reforming .np policy and support service :
---------------------------------------------
As the registration of domain is free, the domain registrant comes in hundreds daily that we need to validate the information with the names
of company/ trademark or personal name and also respective of second level domain name. We have added few supportive staff, provided training
for the prompt and value added service through phone and email .
automated the registation process partially :
-------------------------------------------
We have done the semi automation system for the registration of .np domain and registrant can register online and modify with the given password.
With this we have ease our day to day work but still need to make the system fully automated.

or deploy, and their importance (ranking).

a) mail server with spam filtering :
-----------------------------------
Our mail server is capable of filterning spam , phising , malware and virus . We have deployed this for the past few months and we
have seen that 85 to 90% of mails are filtered by our mail gateway servers.
b) bandwidth manager :
The bandwidth manager is developed for our customers who are connected through fiber and wireles.. According to the requirement ,
we can allocated bandwith to the customer and monitor through user friendly web interface.
c) Network authentication and Authorization for hotspot :
This project has been developing for the hotels and airports where user can login with the user id and password for the limited time.
d) mail log analyzer :
The mail log analyzer is necessary for us to monitor the spam attack from outside as well as from our internal network.
1c. Describe the major areas where you plan to spend resources (time,
money) in the next two years and how important they are to your
registry.

* A timeline (within 6 months, within 2 years, ..).
* Additional requirements (staff, tools, software, etc.).
* How did these topics make your list.
(scaling issue, customer demand, value add service etc.)
* Probability of actual deployment.

2. GENERAL TECHNICAL QUESTIONS
