Bio Dr. Ni Lar Thein -------------------- She received her M.Sc.(CS) from Yangon University, Yangon, Myanmar in 1989. She obtained her Ph.D (IT) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2003. After her Ph.D, she became an Professor at University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY), Myanmar. Then, she worked at the University of Computer Studies, Yangon between 2004 and 2006 as a Pro-rector. Dr. Ni Lar Thein has served as Rector in University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY) under Ministry of Science and Technology, Myanmar (from 2006 to present). She also worked as a Project Director of Information and Communication Technology Training Institute (ICTTI) which was jointly established by JICA, Japan and UCSY from 2006 to 2011. She also worked as a Director of India-Myanmar Center of Enchancement of IT Skills (IMCEITS) which was jointly established by Government of India and Government of Myanmar, from 2008 to 2011. She got "ASEAN Science and Technology Meritorious Service" given by ASEAN National committee on Science and Technology in 2008. She also received "Medal for Excellent Performance in Administrative Field (First Class)" given by the government of Myanmar in 2009. She has nearly 26 years experiences in computer science. She has acted as advisor in many projects currently doing in UCSY. She is particularly interested in Natural Language Processing and leading the projects relating to it. Currently, she supervises PhD research candidates in the areas of Natural Langauge Processing and Mobile Computing.
