Program description

Equipping Network and Systems Administrators for RENU member Institutions with the skills required to design robust and scalable ICT infrastructures that are able to utilise the high-speed connectivity to the Internet provided by RENU in order to be able to facilitate teaching, research and collaboration.

Workshop Goals

By the end of the this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Select the right cabling for a campus network
• Configure a Cisco switch for remote access using Telnet and SSH
• Configure VLANs on a Cisco switches
• Configure static routing on a Cisco router
• Build a flat network using Cisco 3750 layer 3 switches
• Convert a flat network to routed network using Cisco 3750 layer 3 switches
• Present their campus network diagrams to their colleagues
