December

Dec 8-12 : NSRC participated in the 2025 Internet2 Technology Exchange held in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Dec 8-11 : NSRC attended the Pulse Research Week that took place in Barcelona, Spain.

Dec 1-5 : NSRC and TERNET organized a Network Monitoring and Security Management Workshop that took place in Arusha, Tanzania.

November

Nov 24-28 : NSRC instructors Philip Paeps, Philip Smith, and Tashi Phuntsho taught a workshop on Practical Cybersecurity for Internet Operators (PCIO) during PacNOG 36 that took place in the Cook Islands. Philip Smith, Philip Paeps, and Tashi Phuntsho also gave presentations during the conference plenary.

Nov 16-21 : NSRC was present at Supercomputing 25 (SC25) hosted in St. Louis, Missouri, United States.

Nov 10-14 : NSRC's instructors Antonio Lobo, Carlos Armas, and Hervey Allen taught a two-day Network Monitoring and Management Workshop during WALC 2025.

Nov 1-7 : NSRC participated in IETF 124 that took place in Montreal, Canada.

October

Oct 20-24: NSRC/RouteViews Peering Coordinator, Nina Bargisen attended RIPE 91 held in Bucharest, Romania.

Oct 13-16: NSRC taught the Internet Routing & BGP Workshop (more details here) during NGNOG 2025 that took place in Abuja, Nigeria. During the NGNOG Conference Day, NSRC presented on DNS Best Practices by Patrick Okui, an update on the RouteViews project by Nina Bargisen and a presentation on Prometheus for Network Monitoring by Brian Candler.

Oct 6-10: Hervey Allen, Carlos Armas and Antonio Lobo from NSRC participated in LACNIC 44 / LACNOG 2025 that took place in San Salvador, El Salvador. Hervey Allen gave the keynote presentation and Carlos Armas provided a RouteViews Update and Summary session .

Sep 29-Oct 3: NSRC participated in MNNOG 7 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, delivering a keynote at the conference. The team provided workshops, including a Network Management and Monitoring Workshop led by Philip Paeps, Hervey Allen and Owen Conway and a BGP Deployment Operations Workshop conducted by Philip Smith and Tashi Phuntsho. Tashi Phuntsho also gave a presentation during a technical session.

September

Sep 22-Oct 3: NSRC participated in Afnog 2025, which took place from September 22–26, where NSRC instructors Hervey Allen and Cleven Mmari delivered a Network Monitoring Essentials Tutorial as part of the program. NSRC volunteers from Nigeria and Ghana led much of the teaching of this tutorial. NSRC provided a virtual training platform that was used to support access to labs for hands-on exercises as part of the tutorial sessions.

Sep 29 : Philip Smith of NSRC gave an opening keynote to the 2025 Africa Internet Summit that took place from September 29 through October 3rd, both online and in person at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

Sep 1-5 : NSRC conducted a Campus Network Design and Operations Workshop as well as an Internet Routing & BGP Workshop during ZAMREN Week that was hosted in Livingstone, Zambia.

August

Aug 25-29: NSRC provided Direct Engineering Assistance to ZAMREN in Lusaka, Zambia.

Aug 19-21: NSRC staff participated in AfPIF 2025 and delivered a RouteViews Update Presentation during the event.

Aug 17-23: At btNOG 12 (Aug 17-21), NSRC taught the BGP Deployment Operations Workshop, Campus Network Design and Operations Workshop and the Practical Virtualisation with Hybrid Strategies Workshop. NSRC also participated in SANOG 43 (Aug 22-23), co-located with btNOG12. Both events were held in Thimphu, Bhutan.

July

Jul 22-23: Philip Paeps led a workshop on Securing the Resource Naming with KINDNS Framework and gave a presentation about KINDNS during LKNOG 9 .

Jul 19-25: Hans Kuhn from NSRC participated in IETF 123 as a NOC volunteer and also joined the DNS, V6 and BGP working groups. The event was held in Madrid, Spain.

Jul 4: Edwin Sandys of The University of the South Pacific, Fiji (USP) provided a report during the Pacific IGF 2025 Meeting held in Apia, Samoa on NSRC ccTLD work in DNSSEC, root-servers and BGP Routing.

June

Jun 26: NSRC staff attended the Link Oregon 2025 Annual Member Meeting that took place in Wilsonville, Oregon at the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) Portland Metro Campus.

Jun 23-27: NSRC delivered workshops on Cybersecurity, DNS, KINDNS, Routing Security during PacNOG 35 that was held in Suva, Fiji.

Jun 9-13: NSRC staff and contractors took part in TNC25 meeting that was conducted in Brighton, UK. Discussion about the RouteViews project was part of the meeting agenda.

May

May 24: NSRC took part in the bdNOG 19 Conference Day in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where Philip Paeps, on behalf of NSRC delivered a tutorial on DNS & DNSSEC operational best practices.

May 19-21: NSRC contractor Philip Paeps led the "Mastering DNSSEC: Building a Trusted DNS Infrastructure Workshop" during the Phoenix Summit 2025 that took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

May 18-23: NSRC staff attended BKNIX Peering Forum that took place in Bangkok, Thailand. As part of the event, NSRC taught a BKNIX Workshop (May 18-21), followed by a technical update on RouteViews (May 22). Finally, NSRC participated in ThaiNOG Day (May 23) and presented a BGP Routing Table Update.

May 12-16: NSRC staff and contractors took part in the RIPE 90 meeting held in Lisbon, Portugal. Nina Bargisen from NSRC discussed the RouteViews project and current updates, as well as participated in the Measurements and Tools (MAT) Working Group.

Apr 22-24: Steve Huter and Philip Paeps from NSRC participated in the TWNIC Engagement Forum that was conducted in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Apr 18: Philip Paeps of the NSRC gave a RouteViews Project Update as well as a Tutorial on DNS & DNSSEC operational best practices during TWNOG 6 held in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Apr 10-11: NSRC contractors Anna Secka Saine, Alain Aina and Khoudia Gueye Ndoye participated and represented NSRC in the WACREN 2025 conference held in Dakar, Senegal. The conference included a remembrance of Dr. Boubakar Barry.

Apr 7-9: NSRC in conjunction with snRER (Réseau pour l’Enseignement Supérieur et la Recherche du Sénégal) taught a 3-day Internet Routing & BGP Workshop held at Université Amadou Mahtar in Dakar, Senegal.

March

Mar 24-27: NSRC and GARNET organized a four-day CNDO Workshop bringing together participants for hands-on training that took place in Accra, Ghana.

Mar 15-21: Hans Kuhn of the NSRC joined the IETF 122 meeting that was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Hans assisted with meeting setup and IETF NOC operations during the meeting.

Mar 10-15: NSRC's instructors Anna Secka Saine, Brian Candler and Patrick Okui taught a CNDO Workshop from March 10-13 for The Sierra Leone Research and Education Network - SLREN. They also provided Direct Engineering Assistance from March 14 to 15 in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Mar 8-13: NSRC staff joined the ICANN 82 meeting held in Seattle, Washington.

Mar 7: On behalf of NSRC, Nina Bargisen presented a RouteViews Update during DKNOG 15 that took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

February

Feb 19-27 NSRC staff, contractors, and partners assisted with the organization of the APRICOT 2025 workshops and conference that was held in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. NSRC led two new APRICOT MasterClasses in Practical Virtualisation with Hybrid Strategies as well as KINDNS: DNS & DNSSEC operational best practices to improve the DNS Ecosystem. NSRC also gave a Peering IXP and LiveNOG tutorial during the event.

Feb 10-13 NSRC contractor Philip Paeps trained on "Kinds of KINDNS as part of the APTLD 87 meeting held in Hong Kong, Hong Kong. In addition, Philip was part of the "Business Continuity Protocols session on day 2 of the event.

Feb 8-14 NSRC staff gave a "RouteViews Update" during GMI AIMS 5 Workshop that took place at the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla, California.

Feb 6 Hans Kuhn of the NSRC gave a presentation on "RIPE RIS and RouteViews on evolving data collection infrastructure" during Georgia Tech Routing Security Workshop 2025 conducted online.

January

Jan 19-22 NSRC staff took part in the Pacific Telecommunications Council PTC25 meeting that was hosted in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Jan 17-18 Steve Huter and Philip Smith of the NSRC participated in TPRE 2025 conducted in Honolulu, Hawaii.
